Overview

The spaces within the Category B Listed Pyramid at Anderston range from 39m² to 400m² and serve as a vibrant community hub supporting groups of all ages. We successfully delivered both internal and external refurbishment works while the building remained in active use.

A key objective of the project was to enhance inclusivity and accessibility on approach to and within the building at all levels. To achieve this, we created external access ramps, installed a new lift and widened doorways and circulation routes where required.

Comprehensive internal alterations were carried out, including layout reconfiguration, renewal of flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, and full redecoration to modernise the multi-functional spaces.

Mechanical and electrical services were upgraded or replaced to improve efficiency and ensure full compliance, covering electrics, heating, ventilation, and fire safety strategy.

Externally, the works involved removing the flat roof, replacing rooflights, and installing a new asphalt roof covering. We also removed redundant fixtures and an obsolete water tank to streamline the structure.

All works were completed while other areas of The Pyramid remained operational including the community kitchen as well as allowing the facility to continue hosting a diverse range of activities including yoga classes, an Over 50s Social Club, knitting groups, and local events.
