Overview

This distinguished ‘B’ property is located at the pavilion end of an impressive curving terrace comprising 20 rented and private residences. The project involved a comprehensive programme of external repairs and refurbishment, undertaken with great sensitivity to the building’s architectural character and occupied status.

The works included extensive stone repairs and repointing, the removal and replacement of roof finishes including slating, and the renewal of lead flashings. Cast iron rainwater goods were removed and replaced, alongside associated high-level elements. Chimney repairs were undertaken as part of the overall roof package, and paint was carefully removed from stone surfaces to restore original detailing. Rot treatment and repairs to decayed elements were also completed as required.

In addition, significant external joinery works were carried out, including the repair and replacement of bespoke timber windows and frames, ensuring the visual integrity of the façade was preserved. The project was completed with full redecoration and a series of minor sundry repairs to enhance and protect the building envelope.

The building remained fully occupied throughout the duration of the project, which took place under ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. This required careful planning, clear communication, and a respectful approach to minimise disruption. Our team maintained daily dialogue with the client and residents, ensuring that works progressed safely and efficiently while addressing the needs and concerns of occupants at every stage.
